New York-based consultant Erin Johnson formed her company, Esse Consulting, in 2005. She earned a bachelor's degree from Boston College in Communications and has since received accreditation from the American Sommelier Association in Viticulture and Vinification and Advanced Blind Tasting. Erin worked for Michael Schlow's four star-rated restaurant, Radius, in Boston before moving to New York to work for the international design magazine, Wallpaper. She managed the private event department of one of New York's premier private clubs, The Lotos Club, for three years before going out on her own to assist in the launch of Bar Carrera, a Basque-inspired tapas bar in Manhattan. She has since been involved in the launch of Bobo restaurant in the capacity of Beverage Director, and has served as a wine consultant for Lily/Bloom restaurant in Hong Kong and The Fat Radish in Manhattan, both of which opened in 2010.

Erin was the co-host of 'Unfiltered,' an online radio program which dished out the latest industry news with winemakers and tastemakers on Heritage Radio Network.  She served as a sommelier at Graydon Carter's iconic Manhattan restaurant, The Waverly Inn, for three years, and then moved on to open Fork & Anchor, East Marion's celebrated sandwich shop, with Lucy Muellner on Long Island's North Fork.

In 2017, Erin signed on as Catering Sales Manager for The Halyard @ Sound View Greenport, a revamped hotel and restaurant by Eagle Point Partners and managed by Filament Hospitality. She continues to oversee the catering department and manage the private events and weddings for the property. Whether through private events, her advocacy for emerging wine regions, or restaurant development, she fuses the diverse experiences of her work in the hospitality industry with different businesses and restaurants.
